Developer’s Log: January 23, 2025

To do Today

  • Copy over the info from below into a new post: Conflcit Resolution Deep Dive: USSEP / Adamant carrying over the USSEP Investor bug fix.
  • Reread Phoenix’s comments above. I don’t get the load order setting in modgroups. The option “in block” and “always,” — read online about it to try to help better understand.
    • Note, I may have to check patches to see that they’re not hiding important information.
  • Read descriptions and stickied posts
  • Review Chat’s suggestions about methodolgies. I didn’t have time to read it’s latest response.
  • How am I going to remember which texture mod conflicts to check?
  • Ask Chat to help come up with a better system or a roadmap, versioning method, organizational structure… A lot.
  • Do I need MfgFix if I use MfgFix NG below it? Description suggests so but isn’t clear, and I see Wabbajack modlists that only run the NG version.
  • Create a post/page and record what my MO2 setup looks like (plugins, themes, anything else?)
  • Later, after overhauls are installed: Peek at LOTD Patch FOMOD to see what to install next

Adamant / Legacy of the Dragonborn Conflicts

  • Installed DBM_Adamant_Patch.esp via reFOMODing LOTD Patch Hub.

Adamant / Mysticism / USSEP Conflicts

Because Adamant is meant to load after Mysticism, it includes the former’s changes and overwrites them when necessary, so we…

Adamant also, because Simon Magus doesn’t do USSEP, apparently, doesn’t include USSEP’s changes. This means that my Dii – USSEP Mysticism Patch is busted because it doesn’t consider Adamant.

Created Dii USSEP Mysticism Adamant Patch.esp to compensate.

Now, this is the first time I’m creating a patch to override another patch, so to think this through, if all three are present, Dii USSEP Mysticism Adamant Patch.esp will load. But if Adamant is not present, the previous patch, Dii USSEP Mysticism Patch.esp, will load. This is fine because I’m making sure that the former will include all of the entries from the latter. (That sentence is a lot for my brain.)
